Outreach Programs

Our Educational Outreach program allows students the opportunity to work directly with professional actors. Our workshops explore theatre in an enjoyable, supportive and energetic atmosphere. Vermont Shakespeare Company is proud to help young people find their creative voice.

PLAY ON! An Introduction to Theatre Games
Through theatre games and interaction geared toward empowering the individual, students relax and lose themselves "in the moment."

WILL-FULL! An Introduction to Shakespeare
Using themes from Romeo and Juliet as a template, students learn how to warm up the body and the voice. Students are then introduced to Shakespeare's text through reading and direction of scenes from the play.

UNDERNEATH THE MASK! An introduction to the world of the Neutral Mask
Through a series of group improvisational exercises using neutral or expressionless masks, students learn how to express ideas and emotions with their bodies.

EN-GARDE! An introduction to the world of Stage Combat
This workshop explores the fundamentals of stage combat with an emphasis on safety.

We can also offer a 2-day or week- long residency at a school. To discuss availability and workshop fees, or for a complete brochure, please contact Jena Necrason at (917)539-4913 or jena@vermontshakespeare.org
