VSF is responding to this crisis of isolation with what we do best: spreading joy and connection through performance!
Shakespeare To You is an opportunity for you to send a 2-3 minute solo performance to family, neighbors, or friends via front yard delivery, Zoom, or telephone. It's kind of like a live telegram! Front yard deliveries are contact free and follow all medical and physical distancing precautions, as our performers will honk a horn or rap a door to gain attention and then retreat a good 12 feet from the door to perform a monologue or sonnet of your choosing (catalogue below). Zoom or telephone performances can be sent to any location in the United States!
Shakespeare To You is free, and is a fantastic way to send a unique birthday wish, celebrate a graduation or anniversary, or simply offer a connection to someone who needs a pick-me-up or is experiencing isolation or loneliness during these difficult times.
Order a Shakespeare To You Telegram to be performed by one of our esteemed artists! Due to Covid-19, our summer season has been postponed to 2021. We look forward to the time when we can be together again to offer the shared experience of live theatre with an audience, and see our patrons with their picnics in our beautiful outdoor summer season locations. In the meantime, we are here to be of service by keeping theatre alive in whatever way we can.

Our performer will show up at the designated time, follow your instructions for how to get the attention of the recipient, do a quick introduction, and read your note if you provided one, and let them know who the gift is from. They will then perform the piece, bow, offer good wishes and make their exit.
